Staycation List

Most folks living in the Tampa area apparently don’t know we have some great wineries within an hour or so drive. Two such wineries offering tours are Keel and Curley Winery in Plant City and Lakeridge Winery, which is another hour or so drive to Clermont. These wineries make for a great weekend Tampa staycation and the drive to Clermont goes through some really pretty areas of Central Florida. Though the adults obviously get more out of this (wine tastings!), I can personally say that Lakeridge Winery is interesting enough for kids with their great (free!) tour. Keel and Curley Details:
Keel and Curley offers some very interesting fruit wines which you will especially like if you are into sweet wines. Tours are available every Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 and 4:00 for $5.00 per person. They had a fire about a year ago and had a big fire sale which is now an annual event. On top of that, they are in the process of opening an after hours wine bar.

Lakeridge Details:
Lakeridge winery sits on 127 acres and offers an impressive selection of wines. They offer FREE tours and tastings 7 days a week from 10AM - 5PM. Their facility is beautiful and the video presentation at the beginning of the tour gives a great history of growing grapes in Florida. They have special events throughout the year and the grape stomp event in August is especially fun for the kids.
